A special thanks to Kathleen Williams, guest speaker at this month's Industry Masters Forum luncheon, for teaching members and guests about the wonderful history of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Kathleen is a life member of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has volunteered for the Show for 29 years.
Kathleen began her volunteer service at the Show on the Speakers Committee where she has served as Vice Chairman Business Development and Community Events, and Captain of the Ambassador, Business Development, Parade Announcers, and Technology/Business Training Teams. She most recently served as the Vice Chairman of Leadership Development.
She also served as the inaugural Chairman of the Premium Seating Committee, a committee that she helped start in 2010, which is now a part of the Gatekeepers Committee. She is also a member of the Trailblazer Committee and a part of the Rodeo ROPES leadership team. She is also a past member of the Rodeo Merchandise Committee.
She serves as a Director and President of the Bluebonnet Belles Foundation; a steer buying group that has cumulatively raised more than $1 million to support the Steer Auction exhibitors.
She is a tireless supporter of the Show and is a Champion Wine Buyer, Champion Lamb Buyer, Premium Steer Buyer and Supporter of the Armed Forces Committee.
In 2016, Kathleen was chosen as a Trailblazer Honoree. She is one of 5 women selected each year from across the entire Rodeo. Trailblazer Honorees must reflect the volunteer spirit of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
